Travel reports

The city of love calls me twice a year especially loud. Once in the spring and once in the fall, because then it is really good to live in Paris. Then lure small sidewalk cafes with wonderfully fragrant coffee and fresh croissants. As soon as it is warm enough to sit outside on the slightly wobbly tables and watch the Parisians strolling around, you can stand it very well here. When the trees start to bloom or begin to color their leaves, Paris becomes a play of colors. Whether you are planning a weekend in Paris or a longer trip, I’ll show you in my Paris tips how to get to know the city of love in a short time and what you should not miss. Of course, I also have a few insider tips for Paris in my luggage! There are various hotels but you may always check parisodeon hotel.

The journey to Paris

If you are lucky, you can catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower as you approach Charles de Gaulle Airport. Then you can see how big Paris really is, with over 2.2 million inhabitants. The airport is about 22 km from the center. After landing, follow the signs to the RER B towards Gare du Nord. Tickets are available at vending machines or directly at the counter. On my last trip, none of the ticket machines accepted bills and small change is therefore an advantage. The journey lasts between 35 and 45 minutes, depending on whether you have caught a train that passes through the airport to the Gare du Nord or stops at other stops in between. From Orly airport, the best option is to take the Orlyval to the Anthony stop and from there take the RER B to the Gare du Nord. Depending on which part of Germany you come from, it may even make more sense to travel by train to Paris. This takes, for example, from Cologne with the Thalys only 3.5 hours. All long distance trains stop right in the center of Paris. When you leave Gare du Nord station, take a few seconds and enjoy the sight of this imposing station building, which is a real highlight in and of it.

You can explore Paris, by metro, bike and on foot

Paris has a perfectly developed metro network. Allegedly even no metro station is more than 500 meters away from the next boarding possibility. If you know that you drive frequently, you should definitely buy a 10 card, because it is much cheaper than single tickets. If you are looking for a comfortable alternative to explore Paris, I recommend the Sightseeing Tours of Big Bus Tours. Travel through the city in the stylish, open double decked buses and experience all the sights in Paris comfortably and in a short time. Best buy your tickets in advance online, because then you save neat.

There are a lot of options when it comes to travel today. If you are planning a trip to a country you have never been to before, you may want to consult with a professional travel agent. They will be able to alert you to any special information you may need such as customs, weather patters, and needed vaccinations.

One factor that may not come to mind right away when planning travel is weather. By looking up the weather forecast ahead of traveling, or possibly even before deciding when to travel one will know what to expect. If the weather looks bad, it can be prepared for or the trip even rescheduled.

Remember, when traveling abroad it is better to avoid drinking the local tap water. Most visitors will be unaccustomed to the local water, and can get quite ill. It’s much easier to go to the local supermarket or grocery store, and buy bottled water instead. It cuts down your chance of sickness, as bottled water is usually produced to the highest of standards.

India

In countries that you travel to, be aware of the cultural view of how questions are answered. In some places, especially India and Asia, it can be considered very rude to tell someone that you don’t know the answer to their question. Others may simply answer “yes” to any question asked in English. Pay attention to doubtful body language.

Now you should be much more prepared when it comes to traveling. You should now be an expert on what to do and what to pack for all of your trips! The tips that were given should help you travel smarter and have a much more enjoyable time.
